Preparing For Your Church Directory Photos
- Stay away from striped clothing. Solid colors such as red, blue, orange, brown, green, purple or other colors produce better contrasting photos. Your directory pose will be taken on a "blue colored" background.
- It is suggested that clothes that wrinkle up very easily should be brought on hangers. Wrinkled clothing does not photograph well.
- Long sleeves are better for adults to focus attention on the face. Short sleeves are ok for infants and children.
- If you wear glasses, feel free to wear them. Our photographers are trained to minimize any glare.
- Small jewelry/accessories compliment your face better. Avoid large, distracting accessories.
- Bring makeup supplies for quick touch-ups if needed.
- Chapstick works best for the guys - just to keep the lips from looking dry and cracked especially during cold weather months.
- Avoid haircuts within 48 hours of your portrait session. It is best to have any changes to your hair 2 weeks prior to your portraits.
- Fingernails should be well groomed - your hands do show in some of the poses.
- If you wear nail polish -natural or basic colors work best, so that they fit well with what you will be wearing.
